Place Styrofoam tube mailer with blood vials, provided absorbent pad, and completed paperwork into the biohazard bag.

Place biohazard bag and completed paperwork into the Infectolab Kit

Pack kit in Laboratory mailer and ship same day as blood draw

URINE & STOOL SPECIMEN COLLECTION & HANDLING

URINE

Step 1

Fill the collection cup with urine

Use the transfer pipette to transfer 2 – 4 mL of urine into a 5 mL tube.

Firmly tighten the cap to assure the cap sealed

Fill out the specimen label and place it on the tube.

Place tube inside the biohazard bag

Step 6

Store Specimen at room temperature till shipment

STOOL

Step 1

Adhere the flushable stool collection sheet to the toilet seat. Provide stool sample onto sheet.

Step 2

Unscrew the collection tube cap and use the spoon to scoop one spoonful of feces (approximately marble size) from the sample. Place the sample in the collection tube.

Step 3

Tighten the cap and shake to mix the contents thoroughly to create a suspension.

Note: Some fecal material may be difficult to re-suspend. Foam may appear, this is normal. Ensure the sample is submerged in the liquid.

Step 4

Dispose of the unused fecal material by flushing the collection sheet down the toilet and thoroughly wash hands.
